QUEST TO FIND the YELLOWFIRE XA FALCON GT

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

GT-HO RESEARCH There it was Australia Day 1974 An XA Falcon GT Yellowfire VIctoria Police marked car with all the bells (siren) & whistles ( Roof strobe light and Police insignia on the front doors) ONE Candidate was the LCA 147 FORD Press Car 3999 delivery built in December 1971 the pilot car , This LCA 147 car was used in magazine stories. Most of the 1972 FORD XA FALCON & FAIRLANE Press & promo cars were Victorian registered prefixed number plate LCA 1XX series was it more than coincidence that a Victoria Police MTS 351 HIGHWAY PURSUIT was registered LCA 149? it was a 1971 December XY Police GT variant .mysteriously crashed and the wreck sold for under $700 Good result our research over 40 years later we are in contact with LCA 147 we have not yet located or know the fate of the Police YELLOWFIRE XA FALCON GT not recorded in the Victoria Police Transport records which means that it may have been a Ford evaluation or press vehicle or a high ranking Police officers personal car or force car or a Q car ( unmarked police pursuit GT variant) which Q car MTS drivers were allowed to disguise their cars to blend in , GT Badges & a black hood were all that was needed as the naca air scoops were already on the 1973 XA Police, One of the last candidates was an RPO 83 which would have been an evaluation vehicle as the last XAs were September & RPO 83s August 1973-INTERCEPTOR SEARCH is a parrallell search to GT-HO RESEARCH -What is of special interest is that 20 GTs later after LCA 147 more than 600 Fords were produced going by FORD serial numbers at FORD MOTOR COMPANY Broadmeadows
