GT-HO 4 X                  1972/3

HI OUTPUT  GTHO4 T CODE

FACTIt was the article in WHEELS magazine August 1972 story stating 100 HO 4 GT's were produced in the last week of JUNE 1972 So why there were more XA FALCON GT HO PHASE 4 sighted advertised for sale in other colours orange yellow and white to name a few Pepper red was also popular with black vinyl with cloth trim  The availability  has created confusion to this day as well as for the past four decades and still does

AFTER  the  SUPERCAR CRISIS SUNDAY 25th JUNE 1972 soon after the much anticipated FORD falcon  GT HO 4 option was axed and later denied as such

It was not only the absence of the axed FALCON GTHO PHASE 4  it also included  the Torana LJ XU 2 V8 and Charger  V8 which they also got the chop.  It was the coming of age of the SUPERCARS as well as the viod that was felt so there was a demand for the evolving of more V8 grunt in the local Aussie muscle cars was very much on the rise

Focusing on the FALCON  some HO 4 enhanced GT's were Ford  executives accessing  the parts bins   the cars often walked down the line so build sheet history will not show all options such as H Code  Others were from FORD DEALERS that specialised in RACING & PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENTS the  main ones were Bib Stillwell FORD with the skills of Mick Webb and Jack Brabham FORD with the skills of Barry Sharp  Max McLeod FORD with the skills of John Goss ? These may have been more in the presentation of the McLeod HORN cars rather than performance enhanced
