Was the XY GT Mule HO 4 exported and returned to Australia after evaluation?

Much of the testing of the evaluation was tested in 1971 before the XA was built GT HO PHASE 4 XA suspension , wider track and drive train was disguised in an XY GT HO 3 Shell

Over the Tasman in New Zealand which ran a 500 production car with similar rules to the Bathurst 500. New Zealand concluded that it was no faster than the XY HO 3 The XA was not used for the 1972 PUKEKOHE 500 as with Bathurst 500 although NZ enjoyed the 4 door XA GT thrilled fans racing with the Monaro & Chargers with Jim Richards having scored 17 wins in the 4 door XA GT after his Charger victory in the 1972 PUKEKOHE 500
