fact 10 Mud ID PRINTS
Position & PRINTS
Flash back to 1972 Howard Marsden numbered and directed the build order of the 3 Racing Prototype Brambles Red Lot 6 XA GT HO Phase 4 Falcon 4 door series production sedans WIN BATHURST the goal
Like the Fox Harry Firth his predecessors were experienced in shared strategy the key point
"Never let the competition or public know the progress & power of the arsenal"
OPINION The success of the WHEELS story creating the perception that the Ford Work Team at Lot 6 was not advanced in testing progress and not knowing anything about a spare car. It was a brilliant move , XA 3 the only HO 4 completed of the 3 Brambles red was at Calder Park and the WHEELS photos shows 2 cars no trace of photos to the public of a 3rd RACING PROTOTYPE in fact 15 years later was the first public revelation . Unfortunately this has inadvertently created confusion as to which car is which.
The age "Old ADAGE" “Never let the truth get in the way of a GOOD STORY”
Lets go back to 1972 In June the WHEELS August 1972 story
Was it Mel Nichols ? No!
Was it really the illusion Howard Marsden spun that was meant to be temporary until the BATHURST 1972 race with the HO 4 After the HO 4 option was axed as the race never happen it was not correct It was never corrected ?
To follow this correctly understand that the photos at Lot 6 of the marked XA 2 and XA 3 cars were taken at an earlier stage for FORD Public Relations PR exercise the photos published in WHEELS August 1972 were taken after XA 3 was completed so not at lot 6 the photos will show this
